Education.com polled a group of professionals from leading Silicon Valley corporations like Genentech, Hewlett Packard, Cisco, and Oracle to figure out what the most important digital skills are for today’s teens. The results are:
- Typing (check out some links at my Delicious account under typing)
- Word processing
- Spreadsheets
- PowerPoint
- Email “netiquette”
- Electronic calendar
- Social networking sites
- Basic computer upkeep
- Using Internet searches properly for research
- Database use

Ouch! The authors of the Netiquette column on CNN.com are witty and digitally savvy, a real pleasure to read. This post focuses on how to avoid your ex on the social networking sites, from Twitter to Fac, and is a really great overview of the tools available to you to avoid e-wallowing. Having the willpower to follow through is up to you.
